So I was on the BQE in Brooklyn and I noticed this beautiful, new building across the river. It is massive in height and structurally dominating. There is an organic element to the design in that it has a ripple effect which mirrors the water of the river surrounding it. The world-renowned architect Frank Gehry just recently opened up the doors to 8 Spruce Street. The building, at 870 feet, 76 stories high and about 1 million square feet is set to be the tallest residential skyscraper in the entire Western Hemisphere.
I had the pleasure to attend a private fashion show of the Escada Spring/Summer 2011 Collection along with fellow bloggers http://jklmcollective.blogspot.com and http://cinderellasclosetnyc.blogspot.com. The invite came courtesy of Lyss Stern of http://divalyssciousmoms.com and it was hosted by Hector Carrasquillo, Visual Director of Escada. They did a great job in creating a wonderful show that showcased Escada's new looks. The line is a mix of the classic sophistication of Escada combined with fresh, modern, electrifying ready-to-wear pieces. The collection was inspired by the travels of artist Peter Beard http://peterbeard.com to the continents of Africa, Japan and Spain with elements of Fire, Water and Earth contrasting beautifully.
