MET Institute Costume Gala 2011

The annual Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Ball is one of the most anticipated events in the fashion world.  Designers and muses alike come out for the Oscars of the Fashion world.  This event truly is all about the Red Carpet.  gorgeous gowns and lovely people.  This is like the grown version of the prom...lol.  This years exhibition pays homage to Alexander McQueen in Savage Beauty displaying his iconic avant-garde fashions.  Can't wait to see the exhibit which is on view May 4-July 31, 2011 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Full Moon: One Night, Two Possibilities

"FULL MOON"

{Anja Rubik for Vogue Paris May 2011 by Mikael Jansson}

I love the dual nature of this editorial.  It's a full moon and both her masculine and feminine sides are thirsting to take over the streets of Paris.  The masculinity of the classically tailored smoking pant and tuxedo is captured effortlessly and worn with confidence.  I love the glamour of these gorgeously stunning dresses.  The last blue and black sequined number (with a sort of 80's vibe) is killing it!

Not a typical day at the beach

I love this beach editorial.  It is not the typical beach scene.  It is dark and dramatic.  Love the angles of the shoot, adds depth and dimension.  It is visually stunning.  Love the juxtaposition of the heavy, deep rich dark blue and chunky accessories countered with airy sheer fabric.
